Duties and Responsibilities:  X-ray technicians (also known as X-ray technologists or radiologic technologists) use cutting-edge imaging methods to visualize the inside of the human body. The pictures they create help physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries with great accuracy.
Salary:  $54,000
Education: Individuals interested in this growing field need an associate's degree in radiology as well as state licensure to gain employment. Requirements for licensure vary by state. They also can earn voluntarycertification through the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Demand for this particular career: To become a radiology technician, you must enroll in a formal radiology training program and earn a certificate, associate's degree or bachelor's degree. To ensure the best possible educational training, choose a program that has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
