Duties and Responsibilities: Radiologic technologists can also specialize in specific areas of the radiology field such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), sonography, mammography, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. Specializing in one or more areas can improve employment opportunities and earning potential.

Salary:  $48,839-$59,053

Education: They may earn certificates, associate's degrees or bachelor's degrees in radiology to be eligible for employment in the U.S.; however, most radiology technicians enter the career with associate's degrees. The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology accredits radiography programs and schools.

Demand for this particular career: Radiologic technologists are the medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care.
