Education:  Reiki Education and Community. Reiki is a balancing technique that works with the body's own remarkable healing capabilities. It helps to promote and accelerate the natural healing process and restore balance on all levels, physical, mental and emotional.

Demand for this particular career: A beginning Reiki class is taught on a weekend. The class can be one or two dayslong. I recommend that the minimum time necessary be at least six to seven hours. Along with the attunement, it is necessary that the student be shown how to give treatments and also to practice giving treatments in class.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Reflexologists work with patients to help them ease the stress and tension in their lives. They perform therapeutic massage techniques to stimulate pressure points in patients' hands and feet. Some reflexologists also work with pressure points around the ears.

Salary: $39,860.

Education: Step 1: Postsecondary Education. Aspiring reflexologists can complete a certificate or an associate's degree program in massage therapy that includes courses inreflexology. Or, they can complete a massage therapy program and then earn a certificate in reflexology through a continuing education program.

Demand for this particular career: Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
